The town of Tequila is home to the liquor of the same name. Tours of the Sauza and Jose Cuervo distilleries are available. For higher quality Tequila, visit the small town of Amatitan, home of the only distillery to produce Herradura tequila.
South of Guadalajara, the alpine town of Tapalpa offers lakes, streams, a forest and lots of hiking trails.
